If you are looking for a free and easy-to-use VPN, you might have come across Planet VPN. But is it really safe, fast, and reliable? In this Planet VPN App Review, we will explain everything in simple language – including its features, pros and cons, and whether it’s worth using.
What is Planet VPN App?
Planet VPN is a virtual private network (VPN) app that helps you stay private online. It hides your IP address, encrypts your internet connection, and lets you access websites that may be blocked in your country.
Planet VPN offers both:
- A free version (no sign-up required), and
- A premium version (with more features and faster speeds).
It works on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, browsers, and even routers.
Is Planet VPN App Safe or Not?
Yes, Planet VPN is safe for everyday use. It uses AES-256 encryption, which is the same level used by banks and military systems.
Other security features include:
- No-logs policy – Your online activity isn’t tracked
- Kill switch – Automatically stops your internet if the VPN disconnects
- DNS and WebRTC leak protection – Keeps your real IP hidden
The app is based in Romania, a country with strong privacy laws and outside of major surveillance networks.
How Fast is Planet VPN App?
Here’s what you can expect:
- Free version : Speeds are okay for browsing, but streaming or downloading may be slow.
- Premium version : Faster speeds and better performance for streaming or large files.
Some users report that the desktop app may crash or freeze occasionally. Mobile apps are more stable.
Can You Use Planet VPN for Streaming?
If you are hoping to watch Netflix or other streaming sites:
- The free version doesn’t reliably unblock Netflix, Disney+, or Hulu.
- The premium version may work better, but it’s not always consistent.
So if streaming is important to you, you might want to consider other VPNs.
Can You Use Planet VPN for Torrenting?
- Torrenting is not allowed on the free plan.
- Torrenting is supported on the paid plan, but speeds may vary.
Planet VPN App Pros
- Free version available without sign-up
- Strong encryption and privacy features
- Simple to use on phones and computers
- Affordable premium plans
- Works on many platforms
Planet VPN App Cons
- Free version is slower and limited
- Doesn’t unblock all streaming services
- Desktop app may freeze sometimes
- Torrenting not allowed on free plan
- Customer support can be slow
Conclusion
If you need a free VPN for basic use, like browsing the web safely or hiding your IP address, Planet VPN is a good choice. It’s easy to use, secure, and doesn’t require registration.
However, if you want to stream Netflix, download torrents, or get faster speeds, the free version might not be enough. In that case, the premium version is more reliable, or you may want to try other VPNs like ProtonVPN, NordVPN, or Surfshark.
