A video showing a chimpanzee riding a scooter is going viral on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Many people are asking – is the chimp on scooter real or fake? The clip shows a chimp racing down the road, followed by what looks like a police vehicle. It’s funny and shocking, but is it actually real? Let’s find out the truth behind this viral video.
What the Viral Videos Show
Several clips are circulating on social media:
- On YouTube Shorts, a chimp can be seen riding a scooter at high speed.
- On Instagram, users like @empero.ogbonna and @lisa.yamkela.2025 posted the same clip, claiming it was caught on camera in Africa.
- On Facebook, posts from Empero Ogbonna and John Andrew Christie show the same footage, with captions like “Chimp on a scooter chased by police!”
These videos have gained thousands of views and comments, with many users wondering if it is real or a clever edit.
Is the Chimp on Scooter Real or Fake?
After reviewing all the clips and checking for credible information, it’s clear that the chimp on scooter video is fake.
Here’s why:
- No real news reports : There are no official statements or credible news articles confirming that a chimp was seen riding a scooter on any highway.
- Same clip everywhere : Every video on social media uses the same footage — meaning it’s not a real event captured by different people.
- AI or CGI editing : The movements of the chimp look unnatural. Experts say the clip was likely made using AI or computer-generated imagery (CGI).
- Lighting issues : The shadows and reflections don’t match up, which is a common sign of video editing.
So even though the video looks entertaining, it’s just another example of a viral AI-generated hoax.
Why Do People Believe It?
- The video looks realistic at first glance.
- People are used to seeing monkeys and chimps do funny things online.
- Social media captions make it seem like breaking news.
- AI tools now make fake videos look incredibly real.
These factors make many viewers think the chimp video could be true.
The Real Truth
There is no evidence that a chimp has ever ridden a scooter freely on a highway. What we’re seeing online is a digitally created clip meant for entertainment. The goal of these videos is usually to get views, shares, and engagement – not to show a real event.
So to answer the question: Chimp on scooter real or fake? It’s fake.
Conclusion
The viral chimp on scooter video is not real. It’s an AI-generated or edited clip made to look funny and shocking. Always double-check before believing or sharing such viral posts – especially when they look too strange to be true.
