The powerful dialogue delivered by Jules Winnfield sounds like a real scripture, but the truth behind it is very different.

What is the Pulp Fiction Bible Verse?

In the film, the character Jules Winnfield recites a dramatic passage before confronting others. The speech is introduced as Ezekiel 25:17, which makes it sound like an actual Bible verse.

The lines talk about righteousness, protecting the weak, and taking revenge. Because of its serious tone and religious style, many viewers assume it is directly taken from the Bible.

Is the Dialogue a Real Bible Verse?

The answer is it is mostly FAKE.

There is indeed a real verse in the Bible called Ezekiel 25:17, but the version spoken in Pulp Fiction is not the same.

• The real verse is much shorter
• It focuses mainly on divine punishment and justice

How Much of It is Actually Real?

Only a very small portion of the speech has a loose connection to the original verse. Most of the famous lines were completely written for the film.

For example:

• Phrases like “the path of the righteous man” are not part of the original verse
• The long explanation about protecting the weak is also not from the Bible
• The dramatic ending lines were added for cinematic effect

So while the reference is real, the speech itself is largely fictional.

Why Was the Verse Changed for the Movie?

The filmmakers wanted a speech that would sound powerful, philosophical, and memorable.

Instead of using the original verse, they created a longer and more dramatic version. This helped:\

• Build tension in the scene
