In fact, the team has made it clear that Kerr is still the head coach and is under contract through the 2025–26 NBA season.

What Started the Steve Kerr Fired Rumor?

The Steve Kerr fired rumors started after the Warriors had a tough run in the NBA season and failed to make a deep playoff push.

Some fans began questioning whether it was time for a coaching change.

A few factors added to the speculation:

• Team Struggles : The Warriors are rebuilding as their veteran players age, which led to discussions about leadership changes.
• Kerr’s Own Comments : Steve Kerr has openly said that he won’t coach forever and might consider stepping away in the coming years – this was misinterpreted by some fans as him being fired.

But according to official reports, Kerr still has the team’s full support.

What Did the Warriors Say?

Warriors General Manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. told reporters that the organization is confident in Steve Kerr and that he is “part of the team’s long-term plan.”
