Luxor Slide Las Vegas Real or Fake? | Fact Check

Viral videos are taking over Instagram and Facebook claiming that a giant super slide has been installed on the outside of the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. These clips show people sliding from the top of the Luxor pyramid all the way down, with captions such as:

The new Luxor super slide in Las Vegas is a giant slide from the top of the Luxor pyramid all the way down. But is this amazing slide real? Or is it just another Las Vegas social media rumor?

Here is the simple truth.

What the Viral Videos Show

The videos shared on Instagram and Facebook appear to show:

• A long slide running down the outside of the Luxor pyramid
• People sliding from a very high point
• Angles that make it look like a new Las Vegas thrill ride

Pages like Las Vegas Vibes and Las Vegas Parent Zone have shared these clips, making many people believe this slide actually exists.

However … things are not what they seem.

Luxor Slide Las Vegas Real or Fake?

The Short answer is the giant outside slide is Fake.

There is no official announcement, no construction, and no real attraction on the outside of the Luxor pyramid. The Luxor Hotel has not added a slide from the top of the building.

So why are people confused?

What is Real at Luxor Las Vegas?

There is a real slide at Luxor – but it is inside the building, not outside.

A new attraction called Play Playground has opened (or is opening) on the atrium level. This indoor attraction includes:

• A slide entrance for visitors
• A large playground-style game area
• An interactive, fun zone designed like a giant live game show

This indoor slide has led many people to believe the viral outdoor videos are real. But the indoor slide is completely different from the dramatic exterior slide seen in the viral posts.

Conclusion

The viral Luxor super slide going from the top of the pyramid to the ground is Fake.

However, the indoor slide at Play Playground is real, and that is what some people may be confusing with the viral videos.
