Robert De Niro Fired : What Happened and Why Hollywood Reacted

Robert De Niro, the legendary actor famous for movies like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and The Irishman, is in the news for being fired from major film projects. Fans and media are talking about the reasons behind this decision and what it means for Hollywood.

Why Was Robert De Niro Fired?

The controversy started after Robert De Niro made strong comments about Charlie Kirk, a conservative commentator. He mocked Kirk’s death publicly, which caused outrage among many people.

De Niro also made political statements at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, criticizing former President Trump. His statements upset some audiences and led studios to rethink their partnerships with him.

Movies Affected

De Niro was reportedly removed from Warner Bros.’ film The Alto Knights, where he was set to play two roles as rival crime bosses. Some rumors suggested he was fired from a project with Kevin Costner too, but that claim was debunked.

The combination of his controversial statements and the risk of box office backlash likely influenced studios to cut ties.
