Sunburn Competition Real or Fake | Latest News

Recently, a strange and funny post started going viral online about a Sunburn Competition in New Orleans. The images showed people with extreme sunburns, and many believed it was a real event. Some even joked, AI has to be stopped! But is this competition actually real?

Let’s break it down in a simple way.

Where Did It Come From?

The pictures that went viral first appeared in a Facebook group called Cursed AI in August 2023. The group is known for sharing weird and interesting AI-generated images. A man named Will Cartwright created these pictures using Bing Image Creator, a tool that lets you make images using text prompts.

Sunburn Competition Real or Fake

He typed things like people competing in an extreme sunburn competition in Florida, and the AI created the funny (and painful-looking) images. So yes, the images are fake and not real photographs of a real event.

Why Did Everyone Believe It?

The images looked so real that many people thought this was an actual event happening in New Orleans. The idea was so bizarre and funny that it quickly spread across social media. But since AI images can now look very real, it’s easy to be fooled.

What’s the Problem With This?

Even though this post was meant to be funny, it brings attention to a dangerous trend called sunburning, where people purposely skip sunscreen to get sunburnt, thinking it will cure acne. This is very risky and can increase the chance of getting skin cancer.

There’s also a makeup trend called sunburnt makeup, where people try to copy the look of a sunburn using blush. While that doesn’t hurt your skin, it still makes light of serious sun damage.

Final Answer: Sunburn Competition – Fake

There is no real Sunburn Competition in New Orleans or anywhere else. It is just a clever and funny creation made with AI. But it reminds us to be careful before believing everything we see online.
