Christian Horner, the Red Bull Racing Team Principal, has been at the center of controversy due to alleged inappropriate messages leaked online. But the question remains, are these messages real or fake? Let’s check the reality and uncover the truth.
The controversy started in February 2024 when Horner was accused of inappropriate and controlling behavior by a female Red Bull employee. An independent investigation was conducted, and Horner was cleared of any wrongdoing.
However, soon after this verdict, an anonymous email was sent to F1 teams, FIA officials, and journalists, allegedly containing leaked messages between Horner and the complainant. The leak surfaced just before the Bahrain Grand Prix, raising suspicions that it was meant to damage Horner’s reputation at a critical time.
As per our review and available evidences, the Messages Are Fake. Till now no verified source has confirmed the authenticity of the messages, and Red Bull’s internal and external investigations found no misconduct.
The alleged screenshots and selfies appear to be poorly edited or AI-generated, and the timing of the leak right before a major F1 event suggests a targeted smear campaign.
Despite being cleared, Horner faced internal backlash, with Max Verstappen’s father, Jos Verstappen, calling for his resignation. However, Red Bull reaffirmed their support for Horner, dismissing an appeal against the investigation’s findings.
Horner himself called the leaked messages a malicious attack and refused to step down, stating that he had done nothing wrong.
There is no concrete evidence proving the leaked Christian Horner messages are real. The lack of authenticity, questionable timing, and Red Bull’s firm stance suggest this is part of a deliberate effort to damage Horner’s reputation.
